Mothers Day Card

Here's the card I made for my Mom. I used a vanilla card base covered on the front with K & Co's Life's Journey. I used Stampin Up's Large Oval and Scalloped Oval punches for the sentiment. The saying is from a Stampin Up set. Then I added a simple knotted piece of ribbon to finish this simple but classy card.

I hope Mom liked it. Chris

Get Well Wishes

Another Bird card. I used the new Bird Punch from Stampin Up. All the Designer paper comes from the K & Company Amy Butler's Faded China Paper Pad. The tree limb is Stampin Up Chocolate Chip Paper and the card base is Confetti Tan. I also added 3 light pink brads. The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin Up's Chit Chat collection. I really like this simple card but especially the bird. Enjoy, Chris

Its been awhile

We are finally settled in our new home. I was determined not to put any boxes away without going through them first. Everything has been sorted, trashed or given away. My stamping room was the last one finished. It's been done now for 3 weeks but I've had a stampers block. It wasn't until I purchased the new Go To Sketches magazine that I got back into stamping again. I really suggest you look at sketches if you have a creative block. You don't need to purchase the magazine just look on-line for inspiration.

Today's card is from a sketch my daughter picked out of the magazine. I used K & Company patterned paper from the Carolyn Gavin Greenhouse collection. Stampin' Up's Only Orange (my daughters favorite color) and Taken with Teal paper. Stampin' Up's Thank You Kindly stamp set. Embellishments are Light Yellow brads and Orange Prima Flowers.
It's good to be back. Chris

Birthday Card

This cute little card is about 4" by 3". I used up some scraps. The card is Rose Red Cardstock from Stampin Up. I used a scrap of designer paper from K & Company's Life's Journey pack. The stamp comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Burgandy Ribbon. Nothing fancy.

Hoot Hoot

This card reminds me of kwarnerdesigns.com. Kristine does a lot of layering and faux stitching and she loves polka dots. I also used her favorite ink - Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roane. The paper is Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa and Ivory Naturals all from Stampin Up. The Designer paper comes from K & Company's Amy Butler pack. The stamp comes from Hero Arts.

Another Composition Note Pad

I started by rounding the corners of the note pad. I used my scissors to do this a few pages at a time. Then I covered it with K & Company's So Saffron paper. I added a button to the front by sewing it on thru the cover and pattern paper. Then added ribbon to the back leaving a loop to go around the button for a closure. To finish it off I added a strip of the paper to the spine to cover the ribbon and the spine of the note pad. I also made a coordinating pen.

Enjoy, Chris

Desk Calendars

I create these calendars each year to use at work. I have one handy on my desk. I put another in my Legal Pad Portfolio. I used round coasters that we picked up from Red Lobster when we ate there the other day. The square coaster came from Hobby Lobby. I covered them with K & Company Paper, Carolyn Gavin's Greenhouse collection. Then added eyelets to the round calendars. I picked these eyelets up in the Leather section at Hobby Lobby. They have a longer shank than crafting eyelets. On the square calendar I used apple buttons with a shank on the back. I put the shank thru the holes I punched with the Crop-A-Dile. I used a twist tie to secure the buttons on the back. Plan to put that one in the portfolio so no one will see the back. I sponged around the edge of two of the calendars. I will probably go back and sponge the other it looks kinda plain without it.
